Maharashtra has very rich cultural heritage of folk music popularly known as Shahiri Kavan. Once upon a time this Shahiri folk music was part of every film, but slowly western music took over. Now after a long time folk Lavani will be making a comeback in Marathi film. Presented by Premala Pictures, produced by Chandrakant Jadhav and directed by N. Relekar, Marathi film Chhand Priticha will showcase the rich heritage of Maharashtra's folk music and dance to Marathi audience.
Handsome actor Harsh Kulkarni will make his debut with this film about arts. He will be portraying the character of a Shahir, who writes many folk songs including Lavani, Lokgeet, Sawaal-Jawaab, Bhavgeet and Bhaktigeet. The film portrays the story of a shahir, Satyavan (a poet) who leaves all his ancestral riches, just to devote himself to the folk arts. He meets Chandra, the dancer who is equally inclined to make a name in the folk arts of Tamasha and these both art-lovers form a bond of love. Will his dreams come true? or he has to struggle on this difficult path? You have to watch the film to get all the answers.
Chhand Priticha cast includes Harsh Kulkarni along with Suvarna Kale, Subodh Bhave, Sharad Ponkshe, Vikas Samudre, Suhasini Deshpande, Abhishek Kulkarni, Vishal Kulthe & Ganesh Yadav.
N. Relekar has written the story, screenplay, dialogues and lyrics along with film's direction. Music is very integral part of Chhand Priticha's story telling and film's music is composed by Pravin Kunwar, whereas the vocals for 8 songs are provided by singers Javed Ali, Bela Shende, Nadesh Umap, Adarsh Shinde, Vaishali Samant and Ketaki Mategaonkar.
